Pond diping

Today we are doing pond diping.People are catching lots of intresting animals.We found a big( very big) newt. We also pict up in a net a diving beetle.Then we pict up in a net some dragonflies they were very small

Pond diping and taking away grass

Tim is teaching us.we have seen lots of pond creechers . We have cleared grass from trees. We have snails and newts in the pond.

Looking after our trees

We are checking the baby trees and looking at them if They need protecting.


We have been pulling the grass away from the trees and funded a ants nest.we have been finding tree covers for the little trees.

Bug bundles and bird boxes

Today we hung out the bug bundles so that the bugs can keep toasty warm in the winter.
After that, Tim did a bird box special for us. We had to answer three questions.

Bug Bundles

We made homes for bugs such as wood lice, ladybirds, solitary bees and lace wings. We tightly bound together a variety of sticks and twigs. We will search for good place to put them in the wild area so our bugs have a home for the winter.

Hedgehog house!

We have been thinking like hedgehogs today, so we can learn what hedgehogs need to be happy! We are checking that we have everything here that a hedgehog needs, then we are going to make a hedgehog house for our wild area!
